Research Assistant

Dónal Farrell is a research assistant on the VOICES project. His primary research interests include migration history, and early modern Irish culture, society, and language. He has recently completed the MPhil in Early Modern History programme at Trinity College Dublin, where his dissertation examined early seventeenth-century Irish migration through English ports using the registers of licences to pass beyond the seas collection. On VOICES, Dónal’s work is mainly focused on early modern Irish placenames and personal names.
